Garth
was four and Meghan was two. |

Garth
loved games, especially chess. "There's no luck involved",
he would say. Garth considered himself an unlucky person. |

In
August, 2000, I chaperoned the yearly trip the juniors made to Duncan,
B.C. for a grass court tournament at a great old lawn tennis club near
Cowichan Bay, about an hour's drive north of Victoria. This is a
snap I took of all the kids, Garth is on the right. |

White
water rafting near Sunriver. Not a great picture of any of us, but
click on this picture to enlarge and look at the pure joy in Garth's face. |

Bellagio, a few days before he died. Leigh loves this one because of
his shy smile. |

Garth
was six and a half when we had this identity card done. It features
our old address, his height and weight at the time, and a thumbprint on
the back. |

We found
this self-portrait stuffed in Garth's closet. We think he did this in
art class in his freshman year in high school, but he didn't show it to us
at the time. It's a really good likeness and I love the eyes. If you look closely, you can see several punctures in
the paper. He probably got angry at himself at some point and took
it out on the picture. |
